Sacred Body Prayer Experience — Okinawa, Japan
Utaki sacred groves, war memorials, and the sea. Walk through Itoman — a town where prayer is part of everyday life — with a guide born of this land, and reconnect with life through your body in this 3-hour retreat.
Around the world, "Spiritual But Not Religious" travel is quietly growing — journeys that reconnect us with life not through religion, but through the body and the senses, rooted in the culture of a particular land.
This is that experience, in Itoman. Guided by tazuko — a belly dancer and somatic artist whose family roots run deep in this town — you will visit utaki (sacred groves), war memorial sites and the sea, and open your body through Sacred Body Meditation on the beach.
Inheriting the memories that sleep in this land — through the body.
tazuko is a belly dancer and somatic artist with the Okinawan entertainment production Origin Inc., and a graduate of the textile & dyeing design course at Shuri High School. With family roots in Itoman, she lives rooted in this land today, raising her children here.
Out of more than twenty years of exploring the body and the senses — interwoven with Okinawa's living culture of prayer — was born "Sacred Body Meditation." Neither sightseeing nor spiritualism: as one who lives on this land, she offers time to feel the climate of prayer and life in Itoman. She also works on training local guides and shaping new forms of tourism.
